Submission Guidelines

Criteria for Submitting

“Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31

Though we do so imperfectly, our desire here at Room 45-1 is to glorify God in all we do. This encompasses all of life including the art we promote and display at our Café and on our website. God is the Creator. In His love and for His glory, He made man in His image. Part of that image bearing is found in our creativity. We want to foster creativity in the arts. But in holding to our faith and the standard the Bible sets as to what is beautiful, good, and true, we will not in good conscience be able to accept submissions promoting sin or going against what is taught in the Scriptures.

We want to be clear in saying we accept submissions from Christians and non-Christians alike. Both will go through the same criteria as we take your submissions into consideration. If you have any questions please feel free to get in contact with us.

Process of Submitting

There is a 7-10 day review period after you offer your submission. Afterwards we will get in contact with you as to whether or not we are able to accept your submission.

We currently accept article, poetry, and short story submissions for our website and visual art (drawings, paintings, tapestries etc.) submissions for display at the Café at Room 45-1.

Alongside your submission please provide: name, phone number, email, age, and gender. If this is your first submission, we’d also love a short bio to get to know you a little bit!

Any unaccepted submissions will be returned. You maintain full rights to your works and may ask for them to be removed from our website or returned to you at any time. If we are swapping out art on display, we will contact you to return them.

Submissions for our website can be sent to our email.

Visual art pieces can be dropped off at our Café. (If you don’t live in Grande Prairie and would like to display your art at the Café, let us know!)
